KAMAL REGMI BAGS FIRST YUWA PURASKAR

Kamal Regmi, a well known poet and lyricist has won the prestigious Sahitya Academy Yuwa Puraskar for the year 2011 for his book titled Sirjana Ra Abhistha. Regmi has expressed in an interview that the conferment of this award has bestowed him the responsibility to write more and more with full sincerity. A young writer Regmi was born in Rongo, a far flung region of Kalimpong sub-division. He will be visiting the national capital of New Delhi very shortly to attend an official function to receive the award.
It may be recalled that Regmi has been the first to win this prestigious award as the same was introduced only last year.
Similar award for translation has been bagged by Dr. Khemraj Nepal for his translation work from Sanskrit language to Nepali.
Both the writers will be receiving an amount of Rs. 50 thousand each and citation as a mark of honour by the academy in a function to be attended by various young and senior authors of India during the month of August.
