बसिबियालोले नेपाली समाजमा एउटा नया आयाम थपेको छ भन्ने कुरामा दुई मत छैन . यो एउटा विचारको मन्च हो . आम मानिसहरु यसलाई साहित्यिक कार्यक्रमको रुपमा ग्रहण गर्छन तर यो वास्तवमा उन्मुक्त विचारको मन्च हो. हरेक महिनाको दोस्रो शानिबरको दिन कलेबुङ्गको महकुमा पुस्तकालयमा एक बजीदेखि बसिबियालो सुरु हुने परम्परा छ.

Deusi Programme at Algarah

Deusi programme in full swing

The much awaited Basibiyalo Deusi programme commenced from the Lakshmi puja at Topkhana, Kalimpong followed by the similar events at Sashtri Nagar, Siliguri, Teesta Highway, Algarah Bazaar, Pedong Bazaar. Due to tremendous response being received from the local people of Kalimpong, the programme is scheduled to be held on 23rd November at Damber Chowk, Kalimpong to culminate the same as a manner of grand finale. All culture lovers and Deusi lovers are invited to witness this historical event (Deusi at Main Road) from 5 PM.

The Deusi troupe was consisting of move than 50 members and led by BR Chhetri, Ex-Principal, Govt Teachers Training Institute and the whole programme was arranged by Arun Kumar Rasaily, President, Kalimpong Press Club. Senior poet Moti Prasad Sharma led the main Deusi which was followed by chorus of other members. The members included Dr. Harka B Chhetri (MLA), Sanumati Rai (83 year old literary figure), Poets like Jit Maskey, TN Subedi. A fantastic melodrama from evergreen mini epic Muna Madan was acted by Leela Joshi (Senior Teacher of Jubilee High school) and Sibu Chhetri 'Sibu', a young writer. The programme was conducted by popular announcers Lawang Tamang and news reader of Kalimpong Television Lalita P Tamang. A three member violin group recited old Nepali songs which forced the audience to cross the barricade and dance in the stage. Security measures were maintained by Gyan Bd Chhetri, ex-Serviceman. Two young chaps from Shantiniketan, Kolkata Nishant Singh and Alok Chhetri (both M. Music) were the centers of attraction as they played classical instruments Pakhawaj and Israj. Young girls Soujanya Chhetri, Sushila Jogi and Archana Chhetri turned the event in new mode when they danced in the Sangini and other modern forms. The young boys were also presented their dance item with full enthusiasm. Similarly, Naresh Bhandari, driver by profession, danced in the song Jhimkaundai Pareli which compelled all to laugh. TN Subedi and BR Chhetri also recited short poems relevant to modern days' social situation.

Most of the people enjoyed and offered their Dachchchina collectively in a traditional manner very generously. Local schools SUMI, Saptashri Gyanpeeti, Vrindavan School and Rockvale Academy came forward to provide transport facilities by offering their school buses. A medical team led by Maya Rai (wife of late Dr. Sashi Bhusan Rai) of Yelung Diagnostic and Polyclinic also helped the deusi team members wholeheartedly as they felt uneasy and ill while travelling more than 3 hours in a day. Sanju Gazmer worked hard to construct a model Gorkha hut and decorate the stage consisting backdrop and flex. Suman Gurung of Suman Sound Service was the backbone of the event while Narendra Tamang and his crew members were the vital parts to shoot all the event. All the members had put on traditional Gorkha dress including children. The programme started with the reading of code of conduct of the Basibiyalo and Jaagran geet (Sabai Nai Jagaun Sabailai Jagaun). The vocal portions were covered by Bhanu Chhetri and Nirmala Pradhan assisted by Madana Ojha, Meera Chhetri etc.

The whole event was conceptualised by Hira Chhetri.

लीला जोशी अनि अरुण प्रधान सम्बोधन गर्दै 

गत शनिबारका दिन कालेबुंग को महकुमा पुस्तकालयमा मासिक साहित्यिक विचार गोष्ठी लीला जोशी अनि अरुण प्रधानको घरपतित्वमा सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न भयो। दक्षिण सिक्किमबाट आएका साहित्यकार एल बी बस्नेत जोर्थान्गेको विशेष उपस्थिति रहेको उक्त कार्यक्रममा स्थानीय लगायत अन्य बिचार प्रेमीहरुले स्वरचित रचनाहरु पाठ गरे भने युवा साहित्यिक हीरा छेत्रीले नेपाली अनि हिन्दी साहित्यमा स्वर्गीय गोपाल सिंह नेपालीको योगदानको चर्चा चलाएर कतिपय नया बिषयको उठान गरे। कर्मक्रममा आगामी बसिबियालो मदना ओझा अनि राधिका काफ्लेको आयोजनामा सम्पन्न हुने जानकारी गराइयो। सो दिनको बसिबियालोमा  बरिष्ठ साहित्यकार बी के शिलाल , समशेर अलि, ज्ञान सुतार, सनुमति राई , बी आर राई चामलिंग, अरुण कुमार रसाइली, सुदेश खाती, स्यांग देन  आदि उपस्थित थिए। 

DEUSI MEETING HELD

In presence of Musician Madhusudan Lama a meeting of Basibiyalo Deusi was held on 20th Oct at the office of Charitra Prakashan, Thana Dara, Kalimpong. Leela Joshi, Madana Ojha, Meera Chhetri, Radhika Kafley, Pabitra Karki, Badri Sharma, Arun Kr Rasaily, Sibu Chhetri, Leela Pd Sharma, Mani Kr Rasaily, T.N. Subdei, Hira Chhetri etc attended and shared their opinions.

It was decided to play deusi from the day of Lakhmi puja for four-five days in Siliguri, Kalimpong, Gangtok and Teesta. The guest artistes will be invited who include Debashis Mothey, Alok Chhetri, Nishant Singh (Shanti Niketan, Kolkata), Prajwal Chhetri (Rageshri Kala Niketan), four violinists from Gandhi Ashram under the guidance of Rudra Singh, Chief Instructor, troupe of Daju-Baini Kala Kendra, Salugara. The male lead voices will be Ajay Thapa, Bhanu Thapa, Rajen Chhetri, Sanju Singh etc while Amir Sundas of Bakhrakot will play Murchunga, a traditional musical instrument. Chandrakala Rai, P.C. Pradhan, Nirmala Pradhan will assist the musical troupe while Sibu Chhetri will look after the printing work for invitation card, Identity card, flex, handouts etc. Bhawani Sharma, a well known poet will also be invited to join the Deusi mainly for leading purpose. Moti Prasad Sharma will lead the traditional deusi which will be followed by chanting 'Deusi rey' by more than 40-50 followers. A melodrama will also be staged by Leela Joshi on Muna Madan. 

The programme includes recitation of code of conduct of Basibiyalo, chanding of Deusi/Bhailo, singing of jaagran geet, dance on Basibiyalo song, dance, recitation of jaagran poems, instrumentals, talent shows and aashirvaad etc.

Dr. H.B. Chhetri, MLA/Kalimpong will play guitar and sing song as special guest while Anmol Prasad, Senior Advocate, Dr R.P. Dhakal, Principal, Kalimpong College, B.R. Chhetri, Ex-Principal, BT College, Kalimpong, Amar Rasaily, Film Director will guide the troupe as advisers.
